A scan does not replace a mount. Taxidermy is craft work that a digital record cannot do and is not trying to. We do this work ourselves, so that is not a marketing position — it is just true.

Why we built Trophy Vault
I've been doing taxidermy for eight years. What you learn quickly is that the mount is never really about the mount. People tell you the story while you're taking measurements — where they were sitting, who was with them, what their dad said.
Then there was a fire at a shop, and trophies that were halfway through being mounted were simply gone. It happened to my own family. My dad and my brother both lost their deer. Nobody did anything wrong and there was nothing to recover.
That's what started this. You insure the house and the truck. You keep the paperwork somewhere safe. Nobody does that for the buck on the wall, even though it can't be replaced at any price. A 3D scan doesn't stop a fire — but it's a record kept somewhere the fire can't reach.
Some trophies can never be replaced. Their record can be preserved.
How we work
Your record belongs to you
The point of a preservation service is that your record does not depend on us. You should be able to take your files with you.
We say what we can stand behind
A vault record is a detailed digital record of your trophy, and we describe it as exactly that. We would rather be plain about what this is than oversell it.
The technology
We use precision 3D scanning to capture the antlers and skull plate in detail, then keep those files in secure storage along with the details of the trophy.
